Zac Posen and Noami Campbell walk the runway at the Zac Posen fashion show

“I want to express my appreciation to our extraordinary team and for all those who have stood by me and the brand. I owe a great deal of gratitude for their unwavering support for and dedication to the Company. I am grateful to the team who lent their incomparable talent and commitment along the way. I remain incredibly proud of what we created and hopeful for the future. Love ZP.”
These are the words that the designer reported under an instagram post to publicly announce the end of one of the most famous brands of the fashion system and Couture.
Already last spring it was announced that the investment company that has always held the majority share of the brand was doing everything possible to find new investors or a buyer. After months of discussions, however, the decision taken on Friday 1 November is irrevocable and provides for the dismissal of the entire staff, composed by around 60 people.
With immense regret, and after several attempts to avoid the worst, Zac Posen was forced to communicate the closure of the House of Z to his team in New York and to the world, putting an end to the brand’s almost twenty-year work.

Since its launch in 2001, Zac Posen has quickly achieved success, dressing different celebrities and thus marking the history of the red carpet with its superb and fairy-tale looks.
Sarah Jessica Parker, Reesse Witherspoon, Katie Holmes, Uma Thurman, Rihanna, Gwyneth Paltrow and Miley Cyrus are just a few of the stars who wore Zac Posen’s creations.
While on the one hand we are all well aware that the fashion world is a financially complex sector, on the other no one was ready to see Posen’s creations disappear.
So the best way we have to celebrate the career of this great artist and his brand is to remember the dresses and women that made him iconic.
