Milan Fashion Week is in full swing, and the Spring/Summer 2027 collections presented on the runway by major brands have already set some noteworthy milestones.
The Prada and Diesel shows undoubtedly dominated the opening day, Tuesday, September 22nd.
For Spring/Summer 2027, Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons focused their collection on one of fashion’s most transformative and controversial pieces: the skirt. Reimagined in both its material and its combinations, the skirt was presented in a myriad of variations of materials and styles, demonstrating how a single piece can shape the perception of an entire outfit. Paired with chunky sweaters, structured shirts, and bra tops, the humble skirt was the undisputed star of the collection.

Diesel’s SS27 show was a swan song of sorts for Glenn Martens: the creative officially bids farewell to the brand, bringing to the runway not just a collection, but an ode to pleasure in its most exaggerated form. Taking care to ensure the show was perfectly Diesel-coded, Martens brought together a collective of 200 performers who sat discreetly among the audience before unleashing sensual acts, touching each other, and finally abandoning themselves to intense headbanging to close the show.
On the second day, Jil Sander and Fendi stood out, as did MM6 Maison Margiela, with an unexpected appearance by its Havaianass collaboration.

For his third show at the helm of Jil Sander, creative director Simone Bellotti aimed to inject fragility and vulnerability into Jill Sander’s most iconic silhouettes, adding more fluid and spontaneous touches to the brand’s iconic minimalism.
FENDI‘s Smokeshow collection was a crescendo, with lingerie pieces designed with delicate lace, embroidery, and pastel hues evolving into a series of bolder, more theatrical looks inspired by Raffaella Carrà .
As the third day concluded, we witnessed a flawless Max Mara show.
The inspiration for the brand’s Spring/Summer 2027 collection comes from bold, cosmopolitan women who blazed uncharted trails, both on the map and in the social fabric of their time. The collection pays homage to figures such as explorer Freya Stark, nature photographer Osa Johnson, driver Eva Dickson, and aviators Amelia Earhart and Beryl Markham.

In the austere and refined setting of the Ice Palace, a host of female celebrities filled the front row. The iconic reunion between Gossip Girl actresses Kelly Rutherford and Leighton Meester went suddenly viral.
Gucci, Moschino, Dolce & Gabbana, and Bottega Veneta, scheduled for the next two days, are also eagerly awaited.
