The American film awards season goes on unabated and with it great high fashion moments also continue. After the 2024 Golden Globes Awards and just under 24 hours from the 2024 Critics’ Choice Awards, the prestigious evening of the 2024 Emmys was held.
Among the winners we find, not surprisingly – The Bear with Jeremy Allen White, which collects lots of awards together with the Succession series and the unforgettable stars of The White Lotus.
For this 75th edition, the dress code of the stars, as for recent occasions, remained sober, but there were hints of originality and imagination from the Hollywood stars who love to stand out and dare a little more.
The undisputed protagonist of major events is always the total black look, which this time too proved to be predominant and never disappointing. This is demonstrated by looks like that of Lizzy Caplan in vintage Yohji Yamamoto, Sabrina Impacciatore in a cascade of black sequins by The Attico or Ayo Edebiri with a voluminous strapless leather Louis Vuitton dress.
Red also played its part, in all its nuances, from that of Juliette Lewis in Moschino to the livelier one worn by Suki Waterhouse, who seems to have disassembled and reassembled her Valentino Couture dress to adapt it to her baby bump, making it even more iconic and unforgettable.
While on one hand on the Emmys red carpet, many celebrities opted for simplicity and minimalism, on the other, bright floral outfits stood out. Even the young Jenna Ortega preferred to put aside Wednesday Addams’ goth looks to wear a Christian Dior Haute Couture gown with a floral pattern.
As mentioned, some stars showed off pleasantly peculiar looks. From Selena Gomez with an Oscar de la Renta dress made from transparent fabric and voluminous palm leaves studded with sequins – 450,000 in total – to Natasha Lyonne in Schiaparelli, not to mention the dazzling Jessica Chastain who focused everything on color, illuminating the red carpet with a neon green Gucci dress. Among the dresses that remain most memorable is that of The White Lotus star, Aubrey Plaza wrapped in a golden Loewe dress, completed with a gigantic needle stuck in the upper part of the square cut.
All we have to do is wait for the next event of the awards season to feast our eyes on other red carpet looks.
