And now, as if that weren’t enough, Travis Scott’s hit single “SICKO MODE” has officially received diamond certification from the RIAA, selling 10 million copies. The single featuring Drake, Swae Lee and Big Hawk marks the rapper’s first diamond single and he achieved this impressive feat in about two years and four months. While in September 2018 the single “SICKO MODE” always reached one million units, winning the platinum disc just in a month after its release.
Released as Astroworld’s second single, “SICKO MODE” is not only Scott’s first # 1 hit ever, but it became the first hip-hop song to spend 30 weeks in the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The single secured the rapper his third and fourth overall Grammy nominations, receiving nods for Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance.
The Houston rapper is not the only one this year to be awarded a diamond. In November, Post Malone won the third Diamond Disc, with the song “Sunflower”.
