Well yes. A sneaker can frame a suspect, and in these hours, it could prove much more useful than a forensic team. Following the assault on the US Congress by protesters nearly a week ago, the FBI searched for the perpetrators. However, the identification process is made difficult by masks, caps, and hats to hide the face. Therefore the authorities try to exploit every possible means, including social media.
And so in an attempt to identify the man (presumed to be male) connected to the meeting of some homemade bombs, in these hours the FBI has published the image of the suspect on Twitter. The widespread images show the culprit, with his face hidden by the mask and hood, dressed in dark jeans and a gray hoodie. However, two elements could somehow facilitate identification: the backpack she carries and the sneakers he wears. And it is these sneakers that could be essential for research. It wasn’t long before sneakerheads, and sneaker culture enthusiasts recognized the silhouette in question.

A Nike Air Max Speed Turf, a silhouette created by the Beaverton giant in the mid-nineties and very rare to find. Nike relaunched the sneaker in 2012, while in 2018, new versions of the silhouette were presented, including a colorway that could be the one worn by the suspect.
The sneaker also made its appearance in the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air series. In the sixth season, Will Smith‘s character wears a Black and White version with fluorescent details in one of the most memorable scenes: The dance contest with Carlton in Las Vegas.
