Dr. Martens celebrates the artist Jean-Michel Basquiat with a new capsule collection that will be released for Summer 2020. The British brand recently revealed the Dr. Martens x Basquiat collection, that will include two iconic styles, the 1460 Boots and the classic 1461 shoe, featuring graphics inspired by Basquiat’s work. Let’s not forget that this year the 1460 boots celebrated its 60th anniversary.
But there’s more. The packaging of the capsule collection is decorated with the lyrics, numbers and symbols by the artist. Basquiat with his work revolutionized the New York’s street art of the 80s, and still to this day is a source of inspiration for the newer generations.
The Dr. Martens x Basquiat capsule collection will be available both online and selected store from July 10th.
