YOGA IN THE MORNING, FOR A DELICATE AND RESTORING AWAKENING

According to a recent research by the Psychology Department of the Montreal University, women suffer stress, anxiety, tension and rage more than men. Maybe we didn’t even need that research. But probably what we need is a practical strategy to solve our problem. As a matter of fact, there would be a way to stop suffering, and it’s not even too difficult. It is yoga. This ancient art helps you relax, slow down your breath and focus on your present (this is an old problem for us women: living in the present instead of thinking back of the past and worrying for the future); moreover, yoga will make your body incredibly more elastic and tonic, will help your cardiac-circulatory system, lowering your pressure and improving circulation; muscles will slowly become stronger (which means less back-ache) and your posture more elegant. And all of that, while your organism detoxes and processes of aging slow down. From this point of view, yoga can be defined as an actual youth elixir. This is why it is suggested as an ideal habit, mostly for women, in order to get some relief from the chaotic rhythm of modern everyday life and restore your balance and physical shape. You don’t need to be very sporty nor a zen master: all you need is a morning session. Nevertheless, I have to be honest: it’s been at least two years since I’ve started considering yoga and repeating to my self every day “okay, today I’m going to start”.

A research proved that a constant practice of yoga every morning will help you reduce stress (it really does), causing a significant augmentation in the production of serotonin (the hormone of well-being) while reducing cortisol (the stress hormone). The same research proved that those who do yoga every morning also feel happier (this is a hard word), healthier (yoga reinforces your immune system) and much more lively in bed. Shall we start?
