Famous streetwear’s brand, Adidas Originals, proposes in this 2020 a new entry, the creation of a silhouette born from the union of two iconic brand designs, welcome the Superstan!
If it were not yet clear the Superstan combine the Superstar silhouette with that of the Stan Smith, and it is not surprising if the choice fell on these two designs which are the most popular models in Adidas history. The Stan Smiths, created in the 70s, take inspiration from the famous American tennis player Stan Smith, who made them famous by wearing them on his feet in 1971. In the same years, the Superstars, a model created for basketball, entered the market. Superstan was born from two 90-cm pieces, designs that are remembered as two of the main influences in the culture of sneakers.
By combining the distinctive features of each shoe, such as the Superstar bell tip and the classic Stan Smith color, Adidas Originals aims to introduce a new chapter in the brand’s history. It will be released worldwide on February 1 at a price of $ 120. To celebrate the release, a film was produced starring Stan Smith, shot in the state in which he was born, Florida.
