Dior recently announced that a capsule collection in partnership with Stone Island is on the way.
Although it was quite well known that the creative director of the Dior menswear department, Kim Jones, is a big fan of the brand founded by Massimo Osti, the two labels have never leaked any spoilers about this project.
“The Dior and Stone Island capsule collection is a meeting between Mr. Dior and Massimo Osti,” Jones explains. “They both were ‘obsessives’ and the archives of the brands are amazing. It is a mix from an haute couture vision to that of military functionality.”

Within the capsule collection born from the partnership between the two brands we find 74 pieces including clothing, leather goods, accessories and footwear that perfectly combine the streetwear soul of one with the haute couture of the other.
The collaboration is a clever play on style between the two brands which has as its meeting point the common obsession for details.
This translates into a work of exquisite craftsmanship softened by chromatic experimentation, such as the distinctive Dior embroideries treated with Stone Island’s inimitable dyeing techniques and the jackets made in a cotton-silk version of Stone Island’s characteristic Gummed Satin (cotton satin coated in polyurethane inspired by retro military clothing) and patched with leather, rather than rubber.
Making the Dior x Stone Island collection even more captivating are the vibrant hues created through technology, ingenuity and a passion for the process.
Bright yellow coats and pink-toned knitwear highlight the understated navy and gray palettes typical of both Dior and Stone Island.

Beyond the bright tones, it’s all in the details.
Stone Island’s compass rose leather shoulder bags are undoubtedly the main characters of the collection.
On the outside of each item in the collection, the badge cannot be missing, an absolute icon of the Stone Island brand, made of silk and sewn again in Cannage. A very refined embroidered Dior logo is added above each removable patch.
The entire range of Dior x Stone Island clothing, shoes and accessories is likely to be released by mid-2024, although the French house did not provide a release date or specific prices (it is assumed that the latter will be in line with those of Dior ready-to-wear).
