In Italy, we have to wait for December to see House of Gucciin cinemas, hoping that a new wave of Covid-19 does not require further closures. But in the meantime, let’s enjoy the first trailer that immediately tells all the luxury, glamor, and drama.
THE CAST IS STELLAR: Lady Gaga plays Patrizia Reggiani. The singer/actress returns to the cinema after her performance in Bradley Cooper’s A Star Is Born. This had earned her an Oscar nomination. Adam Driver, the husband, Maurizio Gucci. His father, Rodolfo, is played by Jeremy Irons. Then there is Jared Leto, who plays Paolo Gucci, Maurizio’s uncle. Al Pacino plays grandfather Aldo. Giuseppina “Pina” Auriemma, known as the sorceress, is Salma Hayek, who took part in the murder. Jack Huston is Domenico De Sole, and Reeve Carney is Tom Ford. Mădălina Diana Ghenea is Sophia Loren, while Camille Cottin is Paola Franchi.
THE SETS: Much of the film was shot in Italy. In particular in Milan, the place of the murder. Then to Gressoney-Saint-Jean in Val d’Aosta (pretending to be Saint Moritz). A part on Lake Como and Ossuccio in the Villa Balbiano built by Cardinal Tolomeo Gallio at the end of the 16th century. Finally, in Florence and Rome.
THE COSTUMES: The costumes were entrusted to Janty Yates. Dresses from current collections alternate with vintage pieces signed by the double G Maison.
