Today we will talk about the Hotel Principe di Savoia, a historic hotel in the center of Milan overlooking the gardens of Piazza della Repubblica. The hotel, known more simply as a Prince by all the Milanese, was inaugurated in the 19th century as the Hotel du Nord and over the decades has undergone some extensions and several renovations. The current project of the architect Cesare Tenca refers to the style of the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele, not surprisingly a meeting place for the Milanese upper middle class.

 

In 2003 it was purchased by the Dorchester Collection, a London-based company that owns some of the most famous 5-star hotels around the world such as the Bel-Air Hotel in Los Angeles and the Meurice hotel in Paris. The structure is spread over a total of ten floors and hosts, among other things, the renowned Acanto restaurant with the award-winning chef Alessandro Buffolino leading a brigade of 13 people who, with an international menu of seasonal products able to satisfy even the most demanding customers.

 

The spa located on the top floor of the hotel also deserves special mention. The “highest in Milan” SPA where you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the city while enjoying a sauna, a Turkish bath and, in order not to miss anything, the splendid frescoed swimming pool.
