Ariana Grande is back with a new single “Positions”. The 27-year-old pop star, in the new video clip directed by Dave Mayers, plays the role of the President of the United States with a series of 60s-style looks. In the music video, Ariana shows off different outfits, selected by the stylist Mimi Cuttrell from the latest fashion collections by Balmain, Gucci and Lanvin, among others.
In the opening scene, the pop star is in the oval room and wears a Balmain outfit: strappy top with straps and high-waisted flared trousers, featuring a black colour block design with white details and large silver metal buttons. The look is completed by a beret hat, eye-catching stud earrings, a diamond necklace and leather gloves.
Another 60s-inspired look worn by Ariana Grande in the video is by Lanvin: a suit with a discreetly checked pattern, characterized by a collarless jacket, with wide sleeves and a shaped bust. The look is completed with a draped bow-shaped headpiece, maxi pearl earrings and Gucci platform shoes.
By Gucci is the Jackie Kennedy style dress worn in the press conference scene. A cream-coloured knit midi model characterized by contrasting Trompe-l’oeil details. Ariana completed the look with a pillbox hat and a flashy multi-strand Gucci pearl necklace.
Then the singer appears with a second Lanvin look: a white leather hood seen on the Paris’ catwalk, characterized by a wheel design, without a collar and with a central row of large covered buttons. The cape is paired with a headband, Vhernier diamond earrings and Roger Vivier two-tone slingback shoes.
In the final scene of the music video, Ariana wears a Pinko total look. A double-breasted coat, with vintage and oversized silhouette, made of houndstooth fabric and characterized by large lapels and maxi belt with golden metal buckle.
The singer will soon star in the upcoming Netflix production, “Don’t Look Up” along with some A-List actors such as Jennifer Lawrence, Leonardo DiCaprio, Meryl Streep, Cate Blanchett, Jonah Hill, Matthew Perry , Kid Cudi and Timothée Chalamet.
