Demna Gvasalia strikes again. The irreverent mind outside the box of the designer has once again came up with a brilliant invention that is already making people talk on the web: This is the Balenciaga Objects line witch includes the release of a category of collectible items designed for everyday use, at home or on the go. The objects will be presented individually throughout the year, but each of them, at the same time, will be associated with a special project. And the first Balenciaga Objects could only be a metal sculpture of the exact shape of a sneaker, specifically the Track.2 size 41.
Made in Italy, the sneakers are composed of sixteen pieces of cast brass welded and sealed, and then coated with palladium. The Track.2 is sold in a limited edition, and only 20 pieces are available worldwide. This 2.5 kg work is also a clear reference to the trophy status now achieved by the products of Demna Gvasalia.
We recall that recently the brand has decided to invest in our territory, opening its first leather goods production laboratory and training center in Tuscany. Located in Cerreto Guidi, about 40km from Florence, the new Balenciaga factory will open next year and will aim to support the brand’s development plans.
