Sanremo 2021 has begun, and the return of Achille Lauro ‘s elegant looks on stage at the Ariston Theater could not fail to make the news. Between feathers, glitter, and spectacular makeup, the artist has revived the flamboyant charm of David Bowie and the darker one of Brian Eno.
Guest of Sanremo 2021 for all the evenings of the Festival, Achille Lauro collaborated with Gucci to staging his Ziggy Stardust look. For her first performance, the artist wore a high-neck jumpsuit entirely embroidered with a chevron pattern in silver and light blue sequins; shoulder pads in silver shaped metal with rhinestone profiles and pink mesh padding; collar in pink ostrich feathers; armguards in shaped metal lined in the pink mesh; jockstrap in shaped metal and silver hammered leather; platform ankle boots with high heel in silver leather. A look certainly up to those that Achille Lauro, always together with Gucci, had presented on the previous edition of the Festival. How can we forget when Lauro had chosen to pay homage to Bowie’s alter ego on the occasion of the last evening.

The Maneskin look did not go unnoticed too, competing in the 71st edition of the Festival. Their first exhibition wore four Etro looks inspired by the 70s: silk velvets, prominent shoulders, trumpet sleeves, and flared trousers. The embroideries that reinterpret the Paisley Etro shapes are made of jet, crystals, and silk threads in black, midnight blue, and anthracite shades. Crystal fringes embellish the profiles of the sleeves and trousers. Damiano David, the Maneskin frontman, wore a deep V-neck jumpsuit and a dark beauty look that harks back to Brian Eno’s glam rock period.
