Over the course of the long partnership between the pop star and the sports brand, Rihanna‘s Fenty x PUMA line has given us many excellent sneakers, but the Creepers model has always been considered the undisputed protagonist of the collaboration.
For this reason, Rihanna decided to relaunch the Creeper, one of the sneakers most loved by the public and fans of the two brands, almost nostalgically taking us back to 2015.
Just a few months ago, FENTY x PUMA made a welcome return to the scene, debuting a brand new sneaker with a soccer-inspired silhouette, dubbed the Avanti. But now attention has immediately fallen on the latest project to revisit the FENTY Creeper.
The fan-favorite shoe first launched nearly eight years ago, reinventing PUMA’s signature suede silhouette with a rubber platform sole. This new version has been designed to be “bigger, bolder and phatter than ever”, according to the brand, so much so that it has been named FENTY x PUMA Creeper Phatty.
“We took our OG Creeper and made it bigger and badder,” says Rihanna in a statement. “When designing the Creeper Phatty we wanted to reinvent the OG Creeper that was loved by so many. It’s a classic silhouette that has been missed, so its return had to be bigger.”
Characterized by a deliberately oversized line, the shoe features the unmistakable thick rubber sole and is available in three new colorways: Black/White, Blue/Green and a bold Lavender/Cherry Red hue.
“The original Creeper changed the game for us. We knew it was time to bring it back.” Explained Maria Valdes, chief product officer at PUMA “This shoe has universal appeal and we’ve seen tremendous consumer excitement for the silhouette to return. We are excited to not only be able to build upon the existing silhouette with the Creeper Phatty but also expand our offering to the entire family.”
The FENTY x PUMA Creeper Phatty are in fact dedicated to an audience of all ages and genders, including children’s, men’s and women’s sizes.
To get them you will have to wait until the end of the month when they will finally be available for purchase via the PUMA webstore.
