A sensation of absolute glam. A luxury that’s so trendy to become accessible. Here’s the Fendi effect, very hard to describe through words. The 2018 spring summer collection is seductive and arises antithetical feelings. The show was opened by Kaia Gerber, Cindy Crawford’s daughter who has just debuted on New York and London’s catwalks and that looks perfectly comfortable as a super model. Fendi’s message to the fashion world is clear and simple: choose a tropical look and reinvent it with a touch of Brazilian modernism and of futurism. As a matter of fact, here’s the two key themes: greenery and geometric patterns.

Fendi collezione Milano Fashion week 2018

First of all, lines of all kinds and squared patterns that create an optical effect, only made softer by the materials’ elegance and lightness. Sick and organza. And then, of course, fur. A woman’s best friends. A lot of geometry, even on evening gowns. Colors are the most trendy ones, paired in a decisive and even shocking way: arcadia green with light blue and brown, dark brown with cognac, light blue with cream and coral.

The idea is very impressive, other than glamorous: one should copy it with no doubt. Among all of this, there’s even space for some romanticism. Actually, there were some sexy elements, like transparencies and uncovered shoulders, but even flowers and, of course, exotic vegetation (do you remember tropical?), like ferns, philodendron leaves and palms.

Incredibly worn patterns, but most of all wonderfully matched. For example matched with mink dresses, with tartan-heeled and sequined sandals, with Colibrì ballerinas, with stockings or with thigh-highs embellished by squares and flowers.

The most trendy pieces and matches: boxy jacket on a maxi skirt, outerwear that covers the shoulders, leathered trenches in pastel colors and flowery patterns, suits that enhance the waist and then, do not forget, fur-made bombers paired with midi skirts in leather. An important come-back: the double F logo, in many versions, either printed, with a jacquard-like look, inlaid or patched on clothes and accessories. By the way: take a look at the new seasonal bag, the Mon Trésor bucket bag. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.
