Among the traditions of our winter holidays, if there is one thing that cannot be missing, it is the playful component. The big fashion brands know this well and for the occasion they release precious objects and collections in limited editions.
Among these there are also playing card sets, which, rethought with the codes and styles of luxury brands, become very rare collectibles, design and display objects. After all, who would really dare to play with incredibly expensive cards? Perhaps there are those who can afford it or those who simply love to show off these very elegant sets which almost always come in a fantastic case made of prestigious and branded material.
From the Dior set featuring a red leather box ($2,250) to the more “accessible” ones from Céline and Cartier (around $600), playing cards have become a real luxury trend for the Christmas holidays.
But the most requested and iconic ones are, without surprise, those of Italian brands. Because when it comes to card games “Italians do it better”.

The new set of Fendi playing cards, for example, has a value of almost $1000 and comes in a small wooden case covered in two-tone nappa inside which there are two sets of cards and a pair of dice.
Other highlights of the 2023-2024 Christmas season are the Gucci card sets, available in two different designs. A more accessible one at $600 with the classic Gucci pattern and double G closure, a decidedly more luxurious one complete with a black crocodile leather card holder for the modest sum of $4,500.
Not to be outdone are the card sets from Prada which offers a collection of three versions in a saffiano leather cylindrical zipper case for $825, and the two personalized card sets in the leather handbags from Bottega Veneta.
So, for those planning a rich New Year’s Eve that has to be rich in fun as well, you will be spoiled for choice!
