In 2019 Justin Bieber was at the centre of a funny misunderstanding when was stopped and questioned by the police after they mistook the tag of the “Desert Ore” OFF-WHITE x Nike Air Max 90s for a security device. After the incident, Bieber published on his Instagram a video in which he ironically accused Virgil Abloh of putting him in trouble. When the police officer asked him why his shoes still had the tag on Bieber answered: “It’s just fashion bro”. The sneakerheads always choose to leave the tag on their OFF-WHITE products, including the Nike “The Ten” by Abloh. Bieber seems to be one of them. In 2017 OFF-WHITE solved the problem once and for all by publishing a video in which they showed how the tag was supposed to be removed.
