China is ready to restart post-coronavirus emergency, and after the collection record of the opening of the Hermès store in a single day, the news arrives that they are creating another record-breaking thing, a soccer field.
In Canton, China, work has started on the construction of the new Guangzhou Evergrande stadium, a club currently coached by former world champion Fabio Cannavaro. With its 100 thousand spectators it will be the stadium dedicated exclusively to the largest football in the world. On an absolute level, on the other hand, taking into consideration the facilities that also host other sports events, it will climb the ranking of the most capacious structures up to fourth place. The shape of the new stadium is very particular: a huge lotus flower. The city of Guangzhou is known in China as the city of flowers, that’s the reason for the surprising design.

During the presentation ceremony, Xia Haijun, president of the real estate giant Evergrande, said: “The Evergrande stadium will become a new landmark worldwide. A facility comparable to the Sydney Opera House and Dubai’s Burj Khalifa. It will be an important symbol of Chinese football in the world. ” The stadium will rise on an area of about 150 thousand square meters, and will be able to fascinate the public thanks to spectacular light effects. The works have already started, and the hope of President Xia Haijun is that they will be able to finish them for the Asian Cup scheduled for 2023.
