Weighing just 138 g, the new ADIZERO Adios Pro Evo 1 from Adidas is the best performing running sneaker ever and above all it is lighter than any other adidas sneaker ever created.
The only thing that isn’t particularly light is its price. In fact, it’s the most expensive super running shoe released to date, boasting a price tag of $500. But is it really worth it?
According to the evaluations and information regarding this latest cutting-edge model, it seems so.
“It’s a shoe that isn’t easy to make. It’s not a shoe we can cook like any other. It’s very specific,” said Moritz Hoellmueller, adidas’ Vice President Design Global Running. “You’re buying into a game-changing shoe. Something that’s even more amazing than an already amazing shoe.”
Embodying the most recent evolution of the ADIZERO line, Adios Pro Evo 1 is a triumph of technology applied to materials. Its aerodynamic silhouette has, not surprisingly, been compared to a rocket.
“We took learnings from the Adios Pro 3 and thought about how we can innovate the technology on those materials even further and make them lighter,” explained Charlotte Heidmann, adidas’ Senior Global Product Manager.
“The lightness of the shoe makes it stand out. We’re super proud of the weight we’ve achieved, all the while keeping the innovation without compromising performance. “
As if that wasn’t enough, the Adios Pro Evo 1 also boasts the latest version of adidas’ LIGHTSTRIKE PRO foam used for the outsole. This not only significantly reduces the weight of the shoe, but offers greater energy return.
The one-of-a-kind forefoot rocker is positioned across 60% of the shoe’s length.
This innovation promotes forward momentum and generally improves the overall running economy. Which basically means it allows you to run faster, with less effort.

However, the game is not that simple: the ADIZERO Adios Pro Evo 1, in addition to not having a particularly accessible price, are available in extremely limited quantities which will be released in two drops between September and November.
From September 14th to 26th, runners will be able to register for a chance to put one of the 521 release pairs on their feet. Each pair will be individually numbered on the midsole. On October 2nd the selected people will be notified and will be able to purchase the shoes.
