It is a tribute to the memory of Virgil Abloh, the latest updated version of OFFKAT, the videogame launched in the summer of 2021 by Off-White in collaboration with the New York graffiti artist KATSU. The game will contain a memorial dedicated to the untimely death of Virgil and will be enriched by a new drop of assets and skins.
Abloh’s avatar is dressed in a coordinated iridescent set. At the same time, the skyscrapers of the city that make up the setting of the game are covered with the words “Virgil Forever” and “Virgil Lives”, the Off-White logo, with some black and white photos of the designer or with some of his most significant quotes. At the same time, in the background, there are graffiti, fireworks, and roses with very long stems that almost seem to want to go all the way to the sky and reminiscent of Off-White’s tribute to the Chicago designer in stores around the world.
Within the game, you can walk around the city or improvise artists and create graffiti by running away from the police and the eye of security cameras, selecting one of the two available avatars, Virgil Abloh or KATSU himself.
The settings are available: “Free Roam” and “Bomb Time”. The first allows players to explore the streets, searching for an artwork by collecting coins and writing graffiti on empty walls, while the second aims to conquer neighborhoods piece by piece in a race against the police. Each player’s score is visible in the platform’s global ranking, thus enriching the digital experience.
All’interno del gioco è possibile girare per la città o improvvisarsi artisti e creare graffiti scappando dalla polizia e dall’occhio delle telecamere di sicurezza, selezionando uno dei due avatar disponibili, Virgil Abloh o lo stesso KATSU.
Sono disponibili le impostazioni : “Free Roam” e “Bomb Time”. Il primo consente ai giocatori di esplorare le strade alla ricerca di opere d’arte raccogliendo monete e scrivendo graffiti sui muri vuoti, mentre il secondo mira a conquistare i quartieri pezzo per pezzo in una corsa contro la polizia. Il punteggio di ogni giocatore è visibile nella classifica globale della piattaforma, arricchendo così l’esperienza digitale.
