There are very few graphics in the fashion world recognizable at first glance and associated with their maison. Versace has two of them: The Medusa head and the Greca motif. The latter appeared for the first time with the fall / winter 1988 collection by Gianni Versace. And now these two motifs are protagonists in the new Trigreca sneakers of the brand. Designed and engineered by Salehe Bembury, the revelation footwear designer of 2020, this will unfortunately be his latest sneakers for the maison. He recently announced the end of the collaboration with the fashion house to pursue new opportunities and tomorrow open his own brand.
Although the midsole design is minimal (features the black and white Greca motif), the uppers are rich in details and colors. A gray synthetic base is lined with black topographic maps, while the quarters are overlaid with both gray / blue and black pieces. The Versace branding appears on a stripe that runs along the outside of the sneakers that underneath the collar; While the Trigreca writing is found in large on the heel, in a smaller style on the label of the green fabric tongue and on the inner sole. The green spotted laces and the Greca pattern that runs along the toe of the shoe add an extra touch. The look is completed by the cork insoles and the iconic Medusa head set in the outer part of the sole.
The Versace Trigreca sneaker is available through retailers such as 24s priced at $ 775.
