“I don’t leave my bed for less 10 thousand dollars a day”: said Linda Evangelista once, and the backstage of this famous statement will be revealed in a new docu-series, The Supermodels, all about the top 4 of the fashion industry: Naomi Campbell, Christy Turlington, Cindy Crawford and of course, Linda Evangelista. The project will be produced by Apple TV+, to narrate the stories of these 4 legends and how they still influence the fashion industry to this day.
The series will be directed by Barbara Kopple (which two Oscars thanks to her Documentaries, Harlan County and American Dream) and produced by Brian Grazer and Ron Howard. “Their prestige was so extraordinary that it enabled the four to supersede the brands they showcased, making the names Naomi, Cindy, Linda and Christy as prominent as the designers who styled them,” said Apple TV+ in a statement on Wednesday. “We hope our journey seen in the docuseries will encourage, motivate and inspire young people around the world,” said Campbell in a post on Instagram. Crawford said in a similar post she is “excited to reunite with my friends” and explore “the way supermodels transcended the traditional perceptions and limits of modeling.”
