Do you remember when we lived talked about the photographer who first invented street photographers? His name was Bill Cunningham, and usually with his bike and blue jacket, he immortalized those characters on the street who particularly impressed him for their style. Now let’s talk about another photographer who, thanks to his grandfather, shows us how street style really doesn’t age. Of German origin, Jannik Diefenbach, in parallel with university studies, the young 23 year old involved his progenitor Alojz (73 years old) in an online photographic street project.
Alojz is a retired glass maker and started wearing streetwear just over 3 years ago. Originally from Slovenia, he moved to Germany around the Seventies, where he lives with his 69-year-old wife Angela. The grandson project started at Christmas 2019, when Jannik invited his grandfather to try on his clothes. What started as a fun game then turned into a real photographic documentary.
Jannik claims to have no style icons, but only a great passion for streetwear, like his grandfather who simply wears whatever he likes and makes him feel comfortable. Check out celebrity outfits like Justin Bieber or A $ AP Rocky, and try to recreate them.
«It doesn’t matter how you look, how old you are or how others see you. All that matters is that you feel comfortable with your style and clothes. As you can see, my grandfather can still wear streetwear at the age of 74 and be super cool ».
