The world of Pokémon is once again the center of attention. After the special collection with Gucci & The North Face and the collaboration with McDonald’s, to celebrate the 25th anniversary, The Pokémon Company has decided to go even bigger. For this important milestone, the company spared no expense. First by starting an impressive advertising campaign and later by promising its fans many surprises and many events. Among these was the Post Malone virtual concert between the night of 27 and 28 February. The performance opened the celebrations of the P25 Music Presents program.
The concert by the well-known artist was obviously digital and in those 13 minutes of music, spectators were able to review the most iconic places of the famous video game series. On the virtual stage Post Malone, 3 diamond disc, he performed some of his greatest hits such as: “Psycho”, “Circles”, “Only Wanna Be With You” (cover made just for the event) and “Congratulations”. During the concert, the artist met many of the most famous Pokémon, which characterized the successful video game series. Starting from the staters of Kanto, up to the legendary creatures, Post Malone’s trip / concert was an opportunity to show both the singer’s and Pokémon fans all the way traveled in these 25 years of adventures.
However, this virtual concert is only the first of the musical initiatives organized for 2021. In the coming months, the surprises that Katy Perry and J Balvin have in store for Pokémon fans will be revealed to the world. Including also the “Pokémon 25: The Album”, an unreleased disc that will be released in the fall. Each song will also feature a music video and exclusive merchandise, in turn celebrating the musician who the franchise. “Pokémon is doing everything it can for P25 Music and I am thrilled to join the program as one of its main contributors,” Balvin said in a statement. Pokémon 25: The Album will feature 14 tracks from 11 different artists signed by Universal Music Group.
In addition to surprises in music, The Pokémon Company, also thought about video games. Exclusively on Nintendo Switch, “Pokémon Shining Diamond” and “Shining Pearl” are coming, remakes of the old Nintendo DS titles. Next year, it will be the turn of “Pokémon Legends: Arceus“, which will take players to a Sinnoh of the past.
