The new Prada Spring/Summer 2021 collection, was the first one co-directed by Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons and was presented as a digital fashion show during the Milan Fashion WeekThe models walked into an aseptic space with monitors and robotic cameras ready to capture the looks from every angle. The Prada logo was the protagonist and we can see it embroidered on tops, dresses or outerwear. The metal version usually featured on the Prada bags decorates is used as a tag on various outfits or even worn as an earring. The knitwear, usually in the form of turtlenecks, is layered and characterized by perforated motifs. The geometrical printed looks are from the archives of the brand, are featured on oversized parkas with matching hoodies and paired with wide midi skirts. The day dresses are pastel coloured in contrast with the prints and the floral embroideries.

The more functional looks from the collection are characterized by big pockets on the side or the back, while the summer coats have an egg silhouette and have hoodies featuring all-over prints. The accessories include nylon backpacks, shoulder bags in coloured leather and slingback shoes with a low heel.

After the fashion show, Miuccia Prada and  Raf Simons talked about the collection commenting the looks and answering the questions by the fans. Miuccia Prada explained the importance of the relationship between humans and technology, rediscovered during the lockdown as well as how sustainability and inclusivity are such important values for the company. Raf Simons explained his idea of new and how it’s something that has never been seen before and that we can transmit to the new generations.
