Particular. This adjective best describes Contraste Milano, a restaurant awarded with a Michelin star. Defining it as a restaurant is in fact somewhat simplistic. Contraste is a place where creativity is alive and present in every dish, in every detail. To enter you have to ring the bell, as for a real home. As soon as you cross the main door, you are invaded by the Art Nouveau style of the structure, complete with an internal courtyard.
The inside of the restaurant is lovely. A place where the secret and the sacred go hand in hand. The contrast between the classic and the particular is truly admirable. There are no such locations in Milan. The tables are well-spaced, to ensure customers a comfortable environment. The furniture and details are predominantly light in color. A tone that reflects the elegance of Contraste.
The menu is completely original. Not to mention the presentation of the dishes. Sometimes they are also presented inside a casket. In the kitchen we find the chef Matias Perdomo. But the kitchen staff prefer to define themselves as a cook and not as a chef. A choice that contrasts with the other starred restaurants. Here are the dishes that speak, and each of them is linked to a magical story.
The dishes play with shapes and materials. Here at the Contraste in Milan, nothing is taken for granted. Experimentation is alive and all the proposals are innovative and refined, following the menus you go to choose. The ‘reflected menu’, where the paper looks like a real glass on which you can mirror yourself and your tastes. According to their preferences and the chef’s inspirations, it is an 11-course course built ‘tailor-made’ for guests who choose it. This is followed by the “seven-course tasting menu” and finally the “à la carte menu”.
