Dior released a surfboard in collaboration with the artist Shawn Stüssywhich brings their partnership on a new level. Shawn Stussy is one of my great heroes. He started out as a surfer, making his own boards and painted his name on them. It was quite natural for me to ask him to work together on the very first Dior surfboard,” says Kim Jones, creative director of Dior Homme. The surfboard will be released as a limited edition of 100 numbered pieces and celebrates the summer feeling of the latest Dior Menswear Autumn/Winter 2020 collection presented in Miami.

Born from a collaboration between Kim Jones and the founder of Stüssy, the surfboard has an aerodynamic silhouette and features a special fin that creates a smoother and easier drive. The superior surface is decorated with a psychedelic motif already seen on the runway, that has a colour palette of grey and “Ice Blue” on a white base, with one side featuring the “Dior” signature collage. While the lower part reveals the Dior logo redesigned by Shawn Stüssy and “SPECIAL EDITION BY SHAWN STUSSY FOR DIOR”

“For Dior, I wanted to create a streamlined board with elongated curves and subtle house colors, that seems to dance on the ocean,” said Stüssy. Made with a special technique in a UWL laboratory in France, every piece took 72 hours of work.
