ANNAKIKI AND THE INSTAGRAM GENERATION

When Beyonce’s child, little Blue Ivy, attended the Wearable Art Gala in a metallic pleated dress by Annakiki, it was clear that 3.0 had just found its new interpreter in this brand and in its genial designer Anna Yang. This promise was kept here in Milan, where we were offered a show capable to mix an incredibly rare creativity with a serious and interesting consideration regarding the future of fashion and of the new generations. The title was significant: Fashion Glitch. Technology and fashion get together trough a glossy, exaggerated and potentially dangerous hug. If today anything is destined to be shared with a selfie, clothing pieces need to be first of all photogenic and trendy.

Annakiki didn’t forget about that, ad also joked about it. In this collection everything is extremely contemporary and cool, you’d almost say it is a quote of our modern age and its trends: shiny fabrics that evoke technology, a return of the progressive, juxtaposition of different cultures, East and West merging, gymwear, embroidered denim, sneakers with a maxi sole, pailletes and super youngish accessories, ultra disco club, ultra Las Vegas, just ultra! It is the Instagram era on the catwalk: energetic, vibrant, vitaminic, but also quite and not too expansive. The main colours are acid green, electric blue, shocking pink. A biker jacket with pleated sleeves, loose coats, oversized miniskirts, black embellished by neon stripes. Everything, as always, with taste and elegance. According to me, a wonderful show.
