Do you love kittens? Yes? No? It doesn’t matter. What matters is that Karl Lagerfeld, inspired by her white cat Choupette, has just launched his new collection: Karl in Tokyo. The notorious designer has always claimed to be a deep lover of this city finding it very inspirational. Just like cats. And here it is: the capsule collection offers a wide range of accessories, including shoulder bags, tote bags, hobo bags, and canvas shoppers, all of which are decorated and customized with funny drawings of Lagerfeld and Choupette in the typical style of manga comics.
Lines are ultra cleans, the geometry is essential, reminding of the modern oriental aesthetic. The kitten’s blue eyes shine on purses (except when she’s wearing sunglasses). Instead, comic-Lagerfeld is wearing a black and grey kimono (of course with sunglasses) on a red background. Black and white are the dominant colors. The collection is available online and in every KARL LAGERFELD boutique, other that in a selected number of stores, starting from November.
