The Fendi woman is sophisticated, both day and night, as shown during yesterday’s fashion show for the SS21 at the Milan Fashion Week. It explores the feminine world, with references to the past and patchwork looks designed by Silvia Venturini Fendi“I wanted to talk about values,” she explained. “At this time to just talk about fashion seems not enough. I wanted to talk about the values that are behind fashion, and I can tell you that there are a lot. In my family, we have always put great meaning into what we do. Here I wanted to achieve clothes that are about the moment, but which also are part of your life, for your life.”

The classic button-up-shirt is re-interpreted in different ways: from a deconstructed chemisier to kaftan and a jumpsuit. But even left alone, as a mini dress. The elegance doesn’t stop during a day spent at the beach: Fendi choose the total white, embroidered with crochet and lace, and the accessories include wide hats and bucket bags. Longuette dresses explore the 40s silhouette that shows more severe looks, but always with a romantic touch throughout collars and floral embroideries that decorates the linen dresses. Lots of references to her memories passed down throughout generations of women.

If the summer outfits are predominant, Fendi did not forget about the outerwear: long coats with wide sleeves and shorts included. “Formality is deconstructed,” explains the brand. “The coats and the sleeves of the shirts are unbuttoned, the sartorial details are imprinted, the loungewear embroidered”.

The first part of the show is full of white and neutral tones, and then it comes the total black. Sometimes, the collection gets more colourful with bright colours or pastel details, like red or sky blue. Next to the iconic Fendi bags, like the new  Peekaboo, there are straw bags declined in different shapes.

Even the shoes are made of straw, like the décolleté and the slides. Some new pieces include high neck shirts with incorporated gloves.
