It may have disappeared from social media, but Bottega Veneta continues to make a name for itself thanks to its creative director Daniel Lee’s provocations. After the iconic Puddle Boot and the other models that dominated last season, Bottega returns with a pair of Barefoot Shoes and truly exceptional sandals. The footwear is made with biodegradable materials.
Close to the world of techwear and high functionality, the first model closely resembles a slip-on sneaker (like the recent one released by Adidas). Features a full-body, including the sole, it is made using Barefoot technology that wraps the foot like a second skin. Available in sizes for everyone, the pair will be released in vibrant shades such as “Yellow / Red / Green” and “Red / Green / Blue”. The internal slip-on component is also available in shades of brown and bright green.
In contrast to the futuristic Barefoot duo, Bottega Veneta also presents the Puddle Boot as a completely new concept. These feature a shape closer to a sandal. The shoes have a rounded tip, a smooth body, and a small rear strap at the heel. The sandal is also made with a biodegradable polymer, thus contributing not only to the sustainable side but also to design and minimal aesthetics.
Both biodegradable models will be available for pre-order from 25 February on the Bottega Veneta website.
