Just in time for Christmas, Mattel has made Mariah Carey even more iconic, immortalizing her in a doll that has been crafted in every detail to capture her likeness.
As expected, Barbie’s look faithfully reproduces the one she wore in the “All I want for Christmas is you” video.
As a well-known perfectionist and Christmas enthusiast, the singer followed the project with Mattel with particular care, always remaining ready and proactive with her feedback.
“I had some notes, yeah,” she starts. “The hair, other things. But When I saw my doll, I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, this is so cute.’ Because it’s based on the Christmas dress that I wear in the second ‘All I Want for Christmas Is You’ video, which was directed by Joseph Kahn.”
From the sparkling red dress with the characteristic ruffles enriched by the dizzying side slit, to the shiny and silver accessories and the bright red heels. The doll is the perfect tribute to the singer’s glamour and sensual look, from head to toe. Even long brown hair, with the wavy style, is on point.
“It’s a once-in-a-lifetime dream to have my own Barbie! If I could go back and tell my little girl self that one day, I would have a Barbie made in my likeness, I think she would flip out!
