Even though the holiday season seems to be coming to an end, there is still a lot to celebrate, especially considering that the arrival of 2024 and the Lunar New Year are just around the corner. Like many other brands, New Balance is also ready to commemorate this Chinese calendar holiday with a series of themed footwear.
After launching a new version of the 1906 before Christmas, New Balance in collaboration with sneaker retailer Atmos, revealed the 2024 Lunar New Year sneaker collection.
We are talking about a series of New Balance sneakers reissued with references to the Chinese tradition and the Year of the Dragon which is generally associated with the elements of the Earth: wood, water, fire, earth, metal.
The three models chosen for this New Year’s Eve editing clearly distinguish themselves from their classic predecessors thanks to the addition of both structural and decorative details, which have completely revolutionized their appearance.
For this Lunar New Year 2024, the aforementioned M1906N with its thick sole and its technical silhouette, has been redesigned in cream and pink tones with silver details, such as the N logo on the sides.
As part of this collection, inspired by the auspiciousness, changes and richness of the Year of the Dragon, there is also the new 610T in navy, gray and green with detailed suede and mesh uppers. The shoe also features a new ABZORBED midsole, which further cushions movements in the fit.
Both the M1906N and 610T also have celebratory insoles in jade, the key color of the Year of the Dragon, to signify their place in the Lunar New Year collection.
The new version of the WRPD Runner is part of the crew, with futuristic lines, in pitch black and with the oversized gray FUEL CELL sole.
In addition to the shiny 3M logo that gives the running shoe a sophisticated and elegant vibe, the real standout is the jade details around the tongue.
New Balance’s Lunar New Year 2024 collection also includes hoodies, joggers and a windbreaker in neutral shades. In addition to cream and black, mild green returns to match up the jade details of the sneakers.
The entire collection will be available January 1st on the New Balance website, Atmos web store and in high-end sneaker boutiques.
