Initially, in 2017 it opened in the Prati area, in a tiny place. In a short time, the success was immediate, so much so that he had to move to the Marconi area in a much larger room to satisfy all booking requests. The place is called Dumpling Bar and is the first Chinese ravioli shop in Rome. The menu speaks clearly: ravioli, available with many types of fillings (meat, fish and vegetables) and two types of cooking: steamed and grilled.
The ravioli are prepared every day by hand by the staff and undergo a pre-cooking to be then quickly finished with a boil and a passage on the plate before being served. The restaurant is very attentive to the palate. In fact, with no monosodium glutamate, the sauces are prepared fresh daily and according to typical Chinese regional recipes. The portions are five ravioli. In addition to the house dish, there is no shortage in the Dumpling Bar menu other typical and inevitable preparations of Chinese cuisine: spring rolls and spaghetti in soy and wheat variants. The chef in the kitchen is Jing Shan.
The restaurant is simple, with not too many tables, a large window, and an open kitchen. You will find photos taken by Gianni Catani (the owner) during his travels in China on the walls. While a video projector sends images of noodles and films about the cuisine of China’s various regions onto the larger wall.
