Just a few steps away from the Colosseum, in the Rione Monti (Rome), Drink Kong is a psychedelic and eclectic cocktail bar born from the idea of a group of entrepreneurs, experts in entertainment and beverage. In chief of the cocktails, there is Patrick Pistolesi, one of the best bartenders in the world, Livio Morena, head bartender, Riccardo Palleschi and Davide Diaferia.
Drink Kong is located inside space of more than 300mq divided into four rooms that surround the bar and their selections. Each room has a different atmosphere, from smoke and neon of a dark metropolis inspired by Blade Runner to the essential design of Japan, the Ginza Room inspired by Tokyo’s hidden bar. This room is entirely made by cherry’s wood, with huge graphics that feature Japanese fighters on the walls. Another room is dedicated to music and the last one is a homage to the 80s videogames.
Of course, the drinks are the real protagonists. The menu is divided in colours, from soft to strong and each client can choose the base and let the bartender decide what they can add. Behind the kitchen, there is a colossal of this world, Marco Morello, chef and mentor known for his stall inside the Testaccio’s market. He created an amazing tapas-style menu influenced by different cultures, which includes, bao, dumplings, tacos and even British scones.
