Kim Kardashian burst into tears, on her birthday, when she discovered the unexpected gift from her husband Kanye West: A hologram of her father, who disappeared in 2003. “A hologram from heaven” is how Kim described the gift.
“Kim, this is from Kanye West,” says a voice in the video, as Kim sits in a room between sisters Kourtney Kardashian and Kendall Jenner. “Happy 40th!”
“But is it a light show?” Kim asks as the lights go down. “I’m scared. Will someone jump on me?”
A small clip of the hologram is then played. When the lights come back on, it’s clear that Kim and her family are crying.
Kim, who turned 40 on October 21, only shared Kanye’s gift on social media on October 29. Kim’s father, Robert Kardashian, died of esophageal cancer in 2003, just two months after his first diagnosis. He was 59 years old.
The video posted by Kim on his Instagram profile shows entirely the gift that Kanye West gave to his wife. In the hologram, the deceased father of the Kardashian sisters, Robert Kardashian, congratulates his daughter. Also, he requests to send a hug to her other daughters, Kourtney, Khloe and Rob. But Kanye West is still Kanye West, and he also makes Robert “pronounce” the words: “Kim, you married the most brilliant man in the world”. Towards the end of the message, you can hear the song “Who Put The Bomp”, a song from 1961 that Kim and her father loved to sing in the car.
It was very nice to see the Kardashian sisters finally reunited after the latest fights over economic issues, which have undermined family tranquility.
