SUGAR, SPICE, & EVERYTHING NIKE.
The wait is practically over. There’s only one day left until the release of the powerpuff dunks, the sneakers that celebrate 25 years since the birth of the cartoon and about which until recently only rumors were circulating. Now, what we had been waiting for for months was an official announcement that arrived, obviously in style.
After the Powerpuff Girls‘ Instagram account announced the release dates, Nike shared a Powerpuff Girls x Nike SB commercial, altering the cartoon’s iconic intro to include Nike SB as an “added ingredient” that gave the little super heroines their powers.
Well, this is what happens when you mix sugar, spice and everything nice with a little Nike SB. You get the “perfect little shoes”. “And so the Powerpuff Dunks were born,” the teaser says.

The Powerpuff Girls x Nike SB Dunk Low naturally arrive in three colorways, one for each sister with super powers: Blossom (pink), Bubbles (blue) and Buttercup (green).
Also inspired by the different personalities of the protagonists, each of the 3 models of Powerpuff Girls Dunks has particularities that distinguish them such as the material of the upper and other unique details.
Buttercup’s Dunks, for example, have an upper dressed in shiny green satin, combined with a matte black leather Swoosh that makes them fluorescent in the dark.
As “sisters”, the Powerpuff Girls Dunks share some characteristics. Each boasts large eyes on the heel piece and the girls’ names in the same place on the front tongue.
Next to Buttercup’s large, beady eyes decorating the heel tabs, you can see her signature pouty frown, done with a stylized curved line. Blossom’s Dunks have a smile on that spot, in case you were wondering.

The sneakers also feature insoles with a nostalgic Powerpuff Girls cartoon graphic.
The Powerpuff Girls x Nike SB Dunk Lows are scheduled to release on December 14th in skate shops and December 15th on the Nike SNKRS app.
