Raf Simons is full of surprises this year. First of all the designer launched a new line of shoes, the release of 100 pieces from his archives, then he was appointed as co-creative director of Prada and now he announced with an Instagram post the debut of his first-ever womenswear collection. With this announcement, Simons anticipated some information regarding his upcoming Spring/Summer 2021 Collection that for the first time it will be presented with a co-ed fashion show.
1/6 of the Antwerp Six already proved his ability with womenswear when he was under the creative direction of Jil Sander, Dior and CALVIN KLEIN 205W39NYC. For a while now there were many requests for Simons to release a womenswear collection of his brand, and since now all his closet were considered unisex. The only clues we have at the moment are the stickers featured on the announcement: “Teenage dreams”, “Question everything”, “Lush Influx Dandelion Solitary Hum”, “Free admission with this button” and “Join us”, that suggests that once again the inspiration is rebel youth. The collection will debut on October 23rd and we can’t wait.
