There is a word that can express Annakiki’s aesthetic better than any other one: cool. Once again this year, for the 2019/20 fall-winter collection, the great Chinese designer Anna Yang proved to own one of the most creative brands all over the world and enchanted everyone.

maria vittoria cusumano, sfilata annakiki.

Which is her secret? That’s simple: imperfections. Just like a flaw can make a face actually unforgettable and beautiful, so can imperfections turn a haute couture collection into something really special. The title of the show was clear about it:
«Embrace imperfection»
The idea is to redefine traditional aesthetic patterns, deprived of their meaning due to social media diffusion, and to give them a new light and energy through some good vibrations.
The recipe mostly consists of asymmetrical patterns, fabrics innovations and flashy colours: fluo red and green, dusty grey, orange, purple, black, animalier.
According to her tradition, the designer doesn’t give up on fluorescent colours and follows her main vocation: experimenting with surprising matches and materials. Thus she proposes plush fabrics next to translucent ones, denim covered in reflecting elements.

Yang also returns with her beloved asymmetry, contrasts between soft lines and smooth cuts, the combination of tight and loose shapes, all of which have always been Annakiki’s identifying marks and, on this occasion, were reinterpreted for a new and even better effect.

Annakiki’s ideas are connected with spontaneous and authentic beauty, free from schemes and aesthetic rules. The result is youthful, reckless, playful and glamorous: in one word, cool. A show that put us in a good mood.
