Among some of the big names that decided to join the Paris Digital Fashion Week calendar, there is Louis Vuitton. Just now Virgil Abloh shared some details on how he will present the Menswear Spring/Summer 2021 Collection. According to an exclusive interview with WWD, Abloh will present the Message in a Bottle line with a world tour that will start today, 10th of July in Paris, move to Shanghai on the 6th of August and will end in Tokyo.
The first step is the release of a short film shot in the house of Christian Dior, where we can see trunks and luggage with the iconic monogram all over, ready to sail on a journey accompanied by a series of animated characters. Then the next step is organizing a fashion show in the Chinese metropolis, where the collection will debut (everything will be sustainable). At the moment, we still don’t know the details regarding Tokyo.“The Spring/Summer 2021 men’s collection is founded in four methods of upcycling: new looks made from recycled material looks repeated from the Fall/Winter 2020 collection, looks freely created by the studio during the lockdown using recycled material and new looks created from existing ideas. These principles set the premise for the evolution of the collection,” said Abloh.
The collection will feature the new Louis Vuitton Upcycling Signal Logo, which will connect the aesthetic and philosophy of the brand. Everything was designed digitally, via a video-call between the Design Team, and Abloh said that this will bring visible changes on how the collection is viewed. The show will allow guests in and live-streamed online, while the live-action animation short film directed by Reggie Know with original music by The Sa-Ra Creative Partners will be shown during the Paris Digital Fashion Week.
