The direct Instagram remains one of the possibilities of escape while we are forced into the house. We use them to follow cooking or fitness classes, book presentations, scientific debates, even concerts. They keep us company and inform us. But now they can do, even more, thanks to a new feature: it’s called Live Rooms (or Live Rooms) and allows you to participate in Live in groups of four (and no longer just two). A novelty that doubles the number of participants but, above all, multiplies the possibilities of exploiting the social network.
During the Live Rooms, it will also be possible to purchase badges to support creators, insert shopping links and promote fundraisers. In addition, in the coming weeks, Instagram will make available new tools to optimize the experience. For example new controls for moderation.
HOW LIVE ROOMS WORK
To try, it starts as a regular direct. Select the “live video” option and then press the “rooms” icon to add participants among those who have asked to join. Up to three guests at the same time or staggered. Who is organizing is displayed at the top of the screen.
However, to ensure all participants’ safety, Instagram has chosen to prevent access to the Live Rooms for all users previously blocked by the creator of the event and his guests. The same goes for those who, for violations of the platform’s policies, received a revocation of permissions to live broadcasts. Also, during broadcasts, the organizer can proceed with the blocking and reporting of the comments that run on the video. The possibility of activating filters for words is integrated to prevent offensive phrases or terms from appearing during the live stream.
“This update is another step forward in offering creators new ways to reach and engage with their audiences,” Instagram wrote, announcing that the update will soon be available globally.
The Rooms novelty is not new in the tech world. In February, the Clubhouse phenomenon exploded, where once logged in, the user finds himself in front of different rooms, which are the other chats in which he can take part. These cover various topics: from how to find work, to travel, to fashion, to sports.
