We just joined one of the coolest events in Rome. What are we talking about? Well, that’s easy: Kickit! The number one Italian market dedicated to streetwear and sneakers, entirely focused on Made in Italy, that draws inspiration from trends and symbols coming from the US and merges business with art and passion for innovation, exploiting the skills of young talents.
The event took place on Sunday the 5th of May from 10 AM to 8 PM at Atlantico in Rome, with the participation of many Italian under-25 artists and fashion designers, who managed to turn their passion into an actual job. Of course the greatest streetwear brands will be there too: Supreme, Bape, Yeezy, Asi
We could attend workshops and learn how to design and create a pair of sneakers or how to use the ‘Tie dye’ technique. This technique, very popular in the US in the 60’s, provides your clothes with faded patterns for a psychedelic and “hippy”-inspired look. The most notorious designers of this sector will reveal some of their secrets: among them, 24-year-old Michael Cutini, junior sneaker designer for Santoni, an excellence of Made in Italy, and hybrid sneaker creator for Highsnobiety; Roberto Mastrella, from the brand Fenomeno; the graphic designerGiulia Castagnoli, who has already partnered with Nike and Converse; or the tree founders of NOUS,the shop in Paris that took up Colette’s heritage.
Finally, the event involved sport activities, food&drinking spots and no-stop music offered by several Italian and International DJs. Of course the MVCMAGAZINE Team couldn’t miss this incredible occasion and decided to throw a live contest to win a pair of Converse off white 2.0.
