This Monday Jacquemus chose the enchanting island of Capri to present its Autumn/Winter 2024 collection. With this show the brand celebrated its fifteenth anniversary and, to commemorate the occasion, founder Simon Porte Jacquemus did as usual big things.
Entitled “LA CASA”, the fashion show brought a few privileged guests to the island to attend the presentation of 47 looks made of charming silhouettes, fresh drapes and delicate shades.
The designer was subtly hyping about the event for months, already anticipating that it would be held in an unparalleled and particularly significant location for the brand: Casa Malaparte in Capri, designed by the modernist architect Adalberto Libera for the writer and journalist Italian Curzio Malaparte.

Taking inspiration from the Italian writer’s home and director Jean-Luc Godard’s 1963 film Le Mépris, the shades of the collection created perfect harmony with the surrounding environment, using tiles, geometries and colors as an artistic motif.
Celebrities such as Dua Lipa, Gwyneth Paltrow and Manu Rios certainly couldn’t be missing, rigorously immortalized at their arrival on the private boats that escorted them through the intense blue waters of the eastern tip of Capri.
With a breathtaking cliff as a backdrop, the models climbed exactly 99 steps to parade in front of just 40 guests.

Sinuous looks with volumes and palettes in full Jacquemus style have made up the new collection. Flat colors that ranged from navy blue to greys, aqua green, red and pale yellows alternated with a new zebra print on coats, shirts, formal suits and accessories. Semi-sheer dresses featured huge slits from shoulder to knee, exposing models’ hips. The nautical theme played its role in the collection with equal delicacy, with the classic dark blue striped pattern appearing occasionally in some details on the garments.
Finally, the collection included a range of Jacquemus signature footwear, featuring stacked ballet flats, square-toe espadrilles and loafers.
As guessed from the campaign shots put into circulation before the show, Jacquemus also announced that he will open a boutique in Capri in conjunction with the event.
A real twist was the debut as a model of Blackpink star Jennie. The star was tasked with closing the show in an elegant black flared dress paired with zebra-print stilettos and a vibrant blue clutch bag.

Although the day before the show, the brand had published a series of snapshots of Jennie taken at Casa Malaparte, which had suggested her presence among the brand’s guests of honor, the Blackpink singer turned out to be much more than a vip in front row.
