Only a week ago we celebrated the New Year by raising our glasses at the end of the countdown and now the “Awards Season” of the world of Hollywood has already officially begun. Leading the way as usual are the Golden Globes, the awards given annually to the best films and television programmes.
The event, which marks the start of the highly anticipated awards period (which will culminate with the Academy Awards on March 11), was held yesterday, Sunday 7 January, at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles and was presented by American cabaret artist and actor Jo Koy.
This was the first edition following the dissolution of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association last year. This 2024 Golden Globes were in fact organized by the Golden Globe Foundation, made up of Elridge Industries and Dick Clark Productions.
Among the novelties of this year’s edition there is also the introduction of a further category, “Cinematic and Box Office Achievement”, dedicated, as the name suggests, to the films that have achieved the highest numbers at box office.
Among the most nominated films and series this year, titles such as Barbie, Oppenheimer, (no wonder about them) Killers of the Flower Moon and Poor Things but also series such as The Bear and Succession lead the charts.
Although the focus of the Golden Globes is mainly on film productions and the talent of the actors, an essential part of the event is always the highly anticipated red carpet. The arrival of the various celebrities on the red carpet marks the beginning of the ceremony with a parade of captivating and always surprising looks.
The red carpet of this 81st edition of the Golden Globes definitely met our expectations in terms of fashion, with lace, transparencies and bright fabrics.
From Margot Robbie a quotationist in pink to a surrealist Dua Lipa in total black (and gold), the awards season began with a succession of dizzying outfits with trains, sequins and generous volumes.
Also not to be underestimated is the undisputed stage presence of male tailoring, which provided some of the best looks of the evening, from Billie Eilish to Charles Melton.
But there is little to add in words. Let’s see some of the most beautiful and elegant looks that made our favorite Hollywood stars even shinier.
