Here I am, back from Paris where I experienced a full immersion in one of my favorite brands: Escada. I had the chance to visit their show room, to meet their staff, to try several outfits… and of course I completely lost my mind! Two key-words: sport and luxury. According to me it is a genial mix. This is exactly what Escada aims at and one of its most fascinating and original elements. A fusion between mohair and technical fabric, a sartorial style and a teeny outlook. A posh fresh style. I love their palette of citrus-inspired colors: orange, lemon yellow, grapefruit pink. But even shocking pink and fire red. Is there any other brand that nowadays can conquer you with such colors? Super vivid and unusual hues that require freshness and modernity in order to be worn. And even a bit of courage in making matches.
Who inspired the main collection was the androgynous and elegant Isabella Rossellini (Ingrid Bergaman’s daughter). On the other hand the Escada Sport line was inspired by the director Sofia Coppola, a total fashion guru, a diva who always stands behind the camera and wears jeans, shirts and comfortable shoes (but great jeans, wonderful shirts and incredible shoes!). She was defined one of the most glamorous women in Hollywood: please tell me you watched her move on Maria Antonietta, full of macarons and electronic music… it’s the best! Escada is just like her: classical and sophisticated, trendy and casual. Does it sound like an impossible mix? Just take a look at the Sport collection to completely go crazy. It is mostly directed towards this of us that love to stay fit but with elegance. Track suits and blazers are just delicious. You can find velvet made trousers, very elegant and super comfortable, perfect for a happy hour but even for a jogging session. Genial.
Fabrics guarantee high quality and yet never miss the fundamental target, which is fashion. I also loved their sporty shoes, Superga inspired but with a higher sole. I think you guessed it: getting lost in the Escada world was a stimulating, joyous and almost unforgettable experience. Paris of course played its own role, thanks to the Arc du Triomphe just a few meters away, and so did the incredibly kind staff and Villy Giovaniti-Smyrliadis, who takes care of the maison’s communications and guided me through this experience. She’s a wonderful and warm woman, whom I hope to meet again very soon. Thank you Escada. I’ve always loved you but now I love you even more.
