You are watching a movie, and you have just seen a gorgeous bag sporting. But you don’t know how to recognize the brand. You want to sell your grandmother’s Valentino bag. But you don’t have the slightest idea of how the luxury brand market works. Well, now your questions and doubts have an answer thanks to a new app. It’s called Clair AI and was launched by Rebag, a popular New York-based luxury bag buying and reselling platform founded in 2014 by Charles Gorra.
The functioning is, in some ways, similar to that of Shazam. The first step is to download the app from an iOS or Android device or directly from the Rebag website. Then take a front photo of the bag, preferably placed on a plain background. Image recognition software consults a database of over 50 brands and 15,000 codes. After a few seconds later and with 91% accuracy, it offers five possible result options. Choosing a match, the instrument generates a price. If the quote received convinces the user, a shipping label is printed, which is required to send the product by post. From two to three working days (which coincide with the delivery time), the Clair AI technology’s amount foreseen is automatically received.
Besides being free, there is one thing that makes this “Shazam for bags” even more enjoyable. It can scan bags even from a store window, wearing a passerby on the street, in a magazine sported by one of the characters from our favorite TV series.
“A tool like Clair AI serves as an educational tool for today’s luxury consumers to both do something as simple as identifying a bag, and to understand the value of bags they already own or would like to own. Now anyone can scan and access immediately. At the resale value of a bag, without any prior industry knowledge. Clair by Rebag was created to standardize the market and provide more transparent pricing information to retailers. “Charles Gorra said.
