Banksy’s bathroom is literally full of mice, because nobody leaves the house, not even Banksy’s mice playing quietly on the toilet, shower, toilet paper, sink … in short, everywhere! The image of Banksy’s latest work, the combined disaster in the bathroom by the animals forced to quarantine, appeared on Instagram and over 12 million likes arrived in 12 hours. The comment in the post is all sarcasm: “My wife hates when I work at home“. Smart working, work from home, is one of the watchwords of this period and the Bristol artist could not miss the reference of current events.
The mice in lockdown are 9 in total, but there is one very interesting one: the one that counts the days of captivity by marking them with lipstick on the mirror supported by two other rodents. A very clear representation of what we are experiencing, the desire for our freedom and normality marked between chaos and claustrophobia.
Banksy’s creativity scored again and even the quarantine was unable to stop it!
