Thanks to an A-list cast, which includes Gen Z favourites like Timothée Chalamet and Ariana Grande, there’s already a lot of buzz surrounding Netflix’s upcoming production “Don’t Look Up.” The streaming platform has described it as a surreal comedy, and there is no doubt that it will remain in the history of their releases. Don’t Look Up, written and directed by Adam McKay of “The Big Short”, will feature a stellar cast that includes Jennifer Lawrence, as the protagonist, Leonardo DiCaprio, Meryl Streep, Cate Blanchett, Jonah Hill, Matthew Perry, Kid Cudi and of course, Timothée and Ariana. Four Academy Awards will work side by side to bring to life the most anticipated film of 2021.
“Adam has always had great timing when it comes to making smart, relevant and irreverent films that depict our culture,” Netflix head of films Scott Stuber said. “Even if he somehow ends up predicting planet Earth’s imminent demise, we’re excited to add this to our slate before it all comes to an end”. The film follows two low-level astronomers, played by Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence, who embark on a media tour to warn mankind of an approaching asteroid that will destroy Earth. In the beginning, rumours has it that the productions costs amounted to 75 million dollars, but once the cast was confirmed, we think that it’s much higher.
