The Nike Dunk Low, the most loved and purchased for 2021, will be available soon.
In 1985 the designer who created the Nike Air Jordan 1, Peter Moore, presented for the first time the Dunk, then known as “College Color High”, taking inspiration from both the AJ1 and the Terminator.
The first 12 colors of the Nike Dunk were inspired by the uniforms of the leading American basketball schools, including the University of Michigan, Iowa, Kentucky, and Georgetown. They quickly became a symbol of teamwork, and the collection was renamed “True To Your School”, that is, faithful to your school.
n 1998 by popular demand, Nike re-proposed the original colors “Be True to Your School”. New releases included a special edition of the Iowa Dunk with “Wu W” embroidered on the heel. Nike launched only 36 pairs to pay tribute to wu-tang Clan’s album,“Enter The Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)”, and of course, gave them to the members of the group. Even today, they are one of the most sought-after models by true collectors.
In 2001 Nike launched its first-ever collaboration with a clothing retailer, presenting Stüssy x Nike Dunk. Available in limited numbers, the preview of the collaboration was presented at the Stüssy Chapter Stores in London, New York, Tokyo, and LA. Each store could only sell 12 pairs of each color per day, while stocks last.
And since then, they have never ceased to be among the most iconic and sought-after models.
On Wednesday, 19 January, the first restock will return at 9.40 am on Zalando.
